ABOUT EDWIN GAGIANO

 

 

Gagiano was born June 1, 1989 in Kimberley, Northern Cape to Maryna Elizabeth (Williams), a banker, interior designer and event planner, and Albertus Johannes Gagiano, a math lecturer and war veteran serving in the South African Border War in the 1980s. Gagiano is of Italian, British and Welsh descent. Gagiano started his career as a stage actor at sixteen when he landed one of the leading roles as Alf Bueller in the Northern Cape Theatre musical Back to the 80s. He was cast by the Peoples Theatre as Disney’s Prince Charming in Cinderella in 2014.​

Gagiano made his television debut as the lead actor in SABC 2’s primetime television series Snake Park, portraying Zak Verwey, directed by Academy Award nominated Darrell Roodt. The show got picked up for a second season in 2015, with a 2 million-viewership average per episode. Gagiano went on to star and co-star in nine feature films and three top-rated television series. He was included in the closing cast of South Africa’s most beloved soap opera in 2016, starring as Marcel Geldenhuys in Villa Rosa. Gagiano starred in several other successful feature films, including Seun, also directed by Darrell Roodt, and Last Broken Darkness, directed by Christopher-Lee Dos Santos.

Today, Gagiano works in films and television around the world and relocated to Los Angeles in 2015. Gagiano's career extends to music and screenwriting. He is known for writing the screen adaption for former senior vice president for Dolly Parton Management, Jason Davis' best-seller "Your Love Pursues" in the United States.
